The agency of historians under the regime of presentist historicity. Brief reflection on critical assimilation and catastrophic time

This work proposes a critical analysis of the agency of historians under the regime of presentist historicity. In this regard, it is argued that, in the wake of that regime, it is necessary to problematize its critical assimilation by the epistemologies of the South and, along with it, to evaluate the way in which a situated global perspective facilitates the response capacity of societies in the face of the catastrophic time derived from presentism. Thus, the readjustment in ways of thinking historically attends to the relations with time of both dominant and non-hegemonic ideologies.
